Welcome to a reality that seems real, but isn't. "Your Mom," as she is aptly named, is a woman who not only makes you believe in her existence but also holds a passport. Unfortunately, she is as real as the blue unicorn in your mind. Though astonishingly realistic, she is an artificial intelligence creation designed to demonstrate how easily our sense of truth can be deceived by AI.

Have you ever thought about how easy it is to create people who have never existed? Reddit user Harsh introduces "Your Mom," an impeccable human representation that toys with a typical Reddit tradition. Celebrities who decide to participate in Reddit's question and answer section usually prove their identity by posting a picture of themselves holding a piece of paper. "Your Mom" does the same, but everything is artificial. SHOCKING, isn't it?

🎭 Let's see who dares to doubt 'mom'... even if it's an AI version!

But how was this three-dimensional deception conceived? Harsh created a set of female images categorized by hair style, ethnicity, and consistency. Then he used the ADetailer extension and made some tweaks with Photoshop. Not to mention her fake passport, feeding the realism of his creation in a scandalous manner.

Although the experiment is fascinating, it has a dark side: it poses a risk to security and person verification. The ease with which deepfakes can be created, and the level of realism they can achieve, thrusts us into a race to detect falsehoods where, as we fear, the counterfeiters may be outpacing us.

Ultimately, this pushes us to seek solutions and verification alternatives. Initiatives like World ID, which uses iris scanning, or facial recognition apps for creating identity documents, are emerging in response to this challenge. But, as it becomes evident, detecting real humanity is more complicated than ever. Because, yes, impersonating one of us is getting easier (and more believable) each day. Chilling, but impressive.

Welcome to another futuristic chapter of 'Google versus Skynet'. This time, Google has drafted a 'Robot Constitution' to establish limits for its new intelligent robotic assistants, thereby avoiding any potential scenarios of a machine uprising. Inspired by Isaac Asimov's famous Three Laws of Robotics, this rulebook outlines safety protocols ensuring that the droids do not endanger us at work or home.

Let's take a closer look at this 'Robot Constitution'. Google has developed a data collection system called AutoRT that works in tandem with a Visual Language Model (VLM), and a Large Language Model (LLM) to enable robots to understand their environment, adapt to unknown situations, and make appropriate decisions. Now, think of LLM as the final judge, making its decision based on safety guidelines from the constitution. These guidelines instruct robots to avoid tasks that could potentially pose a risk to humans, animals, sharp objects, and electrical devices.

πŸ€– On one hand, we might never reach experiences of working with robots as dramatic as in the movies. On the other... who's going to complain about having an office free from dangers created by robots?

But Google hasn't stopped there. The guys at Google have equipped the robots with additional safety features. For instance, they programmed robots to automatically shut down if they detect excessive force on their joints, and there's also a physical shutdown switch for human intervention when necessary. Over a seven-month period, Google deployed a fleet of 53 AutoRT robots across four buildings, and carried out more than 77,000 tests. Some of them were remotely controlled by humans, while others operated autonomously using Google’s AI learning model, RT-2.

At the end of the day, it seems we're still quite a way from robots serving cocktails and fluffing our pillows, but when that happens, it's highly likely they'll have something in common with AutoRT. However, with Google's promise of safe robots, for now, you can put your fears of a robot invasion to rest. Apparently, the only ones who have cause for concern, at least for awhile, are the lazy coworkers, as these robots could far surpass them in the near future.

A bold step in the AI-driven business landscape, Intel has announced the creation of a new software company named Articul8 AI. This strategic move, backed by Florida-based investor DigitalBridge, aims to consolidate Intel's presence in the AI-driven business software market.

The new entity, Articul8 AI, is the product of an innovative collaboration between Intel and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) that began as a proof of concept last May. The core of the collaboration is based on a generative artificial intelligence platform that can process text and images. Developed internally by Intel over two years and optimized for BCG's specific uses, the system has proven effective in meeting BCG's high security requirements.

🎲 "It is said that Intel is making AI the new language of business... Articul8 AI will be your new Rosetta Stone!"

Previously, BCG was the sole supplier and customer of the system, but in recent months, Intel has worked to extend this platform to various sectors from finance to telecommunications that require high levels of security and knowledge of specialized domains. The product was created to meet business needs and is optimized for speed of implementation, scalability, security, and sustainability. The CEO of the company will be Arun Subramaniyan, formerly Vice President and General Manager of Intel's Data Center and Artificial Intelligence Group.

This effort by Intel to launch Articul8 AI is a step in its strategy to seek external capital for its business units. Even so, Intel will continue to maintain a good relationship with Articul8 AI, retaining a stake in the company and planning to leverage its AI software for future internal use cases.

In summary, amid increasing competition in the AI era, Intel is repositioning itself not only as a leader in chip manufacturing but also at the forefront of the AI revolution. With Articul8 AI, it is aiming to make its hardware more attractive for a variety of applications, keeping pace with competitors such as Nvidia and AMD.
